Read moreColombo, December 2 – The Ministry of Finance has increased financial aid for cleaning flood‑affected homes and property. Support has been raised from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 25,000, following the directive of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his role as Minister of Finance. The move aims to speed up recovery for communities hit by Cyclone Ditwah. Allocation and Funding Finance Secretary Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma confirmed the increase was approved after a request from the Disaster Management Centre and in line with presidential instructions. Governance and Implementation Dr. Suriyapperuma noted that the allocations will help restore lives and livelihoods more quickly in affected areas. Future Relief The Ministry stated it is ready to provide additional assistance if required, based on recommendations from the Disaster Management Centre.
