Trincomalee, Dec 2025 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, Arun Hemachandra, has announced via his official Facebook account that urgent steps will be taken to rebuild the 500–800 metre stretch of the Trincomalee–Batticaloa Road at Raal Kuzi, which has been completely damaged.

Hemachandra emphasized that the reconstruction will enable the resumption of distribution from Trincomalee to Muttur, Seruwila, and Verugal, areas that have faced severe disruption due to the road damage.

He assured that the work will be completed within the shortest possible timeframe, underscoring the urgency of reconnecting communities and restoring essential supply lines across the Eastern Province.
