In celebration of the 76th Army Day, the 221 Infantry Brigade led a beach cleaning initiative in Kuchchaveli on October 10, 2025, under the theme “A Clean and Beautiful Coastline for the Nation.”
Organized by Brigade Commander Colonel BAMC Beligaswattha RSP, and supervised by the Civil Coordinating Officer, the event ran from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, mobilizing 100 troops alongside members of local fishing societies and youth organizations.
The program focused on:
- Cleaning the coastal stretch
- Protecting marine biodiversity
- Promoting environmental awareness
This collaborative effort not only enhanced the local environment but also strengthened ties between the Sri Lanka Army and the Kuchchaveli community, reinforcing the Army’s commitment to national service beyond defence.
