Six Sri Lankan nationals, among them Ishara Sewwandi—the prime suspect in the high-profile killing of underworld figure Ganemulla Sanjeewa—have been repatriated to Sri Lanka following their arrest in Nepal earlier this week.

Authorities confirmed that Sewwandi will be transferred to the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) for further investigation into the fatal shooting, which occurred inside the Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court earlier this year.

The arrests mark a significant development in the case, which drew widespread attention due to the brazen nature of the attack within a court premises.
